Promotion Sunday is Here!
August 7, 2010 - Renovated areas are ready for Children, Middle School and High School students to occupy for promoting to new grades THIS SUNDAY, August 8, 2010. This will be the final move for some students and, for others, the final move will take place in January, 2011, when new construction of education facilities is expected to be complete.
Here is a brief rundown of where children will move on Sunday. Children’s Minister, Cindy Starr, sent a letter to all workers and parents this week with further details, along with a map. A pdf file of that map is available by clicking here for further reference.
Preschool Children
The awning entrance and adjoining parking lot that faces Smallhouse Road re-opens this Sunday to make drop-off easier for preschool parents and children. The Babies/Two will remain in the same area known as Stepping into Blue (see map). Preschool children currently on the second floor will move to the two learning areas off the awning entrance – these two areas are called Stepping into Red and Stepping into Green. All color areas are defined by birthdates.
To further assist parents, there will be Welcome Center greeters and hall monitors positioned throughout the facility.

Next Sunday, the 6th graders will remain on the 3rd floor of the Children’s building and the 7th and 8th graders will move into the renovated Fellowship Hall. The 7th and 8th graders will also use classrooms in the basement, which has undergone some minor renovations, including painting, for breakout sessions.
High School Students
The Student Building has been a work in progress since students moved in last April. The large group room now has a permanent stage, sound system and projection screens. The game room, Commission Café and entrance areas are now furnished and completed. There is a kickoff event for the new school year at 9:30am this Sunday, August 8, 2010 with a combined event with the Middle School students.
